All eyes in the NBA were on Dallas as Luka Doncic returned to face the Mavericks wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey this time.
This was Doncic’s first game back at the American Airlines Center after the surprising trade that sent him to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Many fans and Doncic himself were shocked by the move. He had spent over six seasons with the Mavericks and was a fan favorite.
On Wednesday night, Doncic gave fans a performance to remember. He scored 45 points and led the Lakers to a 112-97 win over his former team. Dallas fans cheered for him all night and gave him a standing ovation when he left the game.
Earlier in the season, during his first game against Dallas in L.A., Doncic had a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists. But this time, he played even better.
